In 4th, 5th, and 6th, grade, we had to perform "morning talks." We chose a subject, had about a month to study it, then we had to give an in depth report on it. We were judged on vocabulary, visual aids, content, and poise. It was very easy to see the difference between excellent poise and not-so-excellent poise when you watched 25 kids give talks every month for 9 months, 3 years in a row.
