During our first call I will ask you what you would like to achieve overall from our coaching relationship. You may have a very specific issue to address e.g. asking your boss for a pay rise, or you may be looking to spring clean your life, make a fresh start or start your own business. In this overall context I will then invariably ask two questions at the start of every session: “What do you want to work through?” and “How do you want to be different”. We’ll then work together to get you from where you are now to where you want to be.
Some of this will be using traditional coaching methods, such as the GROW model:
- G oal Setting
- R eality checking
- O ptions
- W hat is to be done, When, by Whom and the Will to do it
And sometimes we will need to go beyond the bounds of regular coaching, and use some advanced techniques from:
- Neuro-Linguistic Programming
- Time Line Therapy
- other leading edge personal development methodologies
For example, techniques to boost confidence and self-esteem, decrease anxiety, reduce stress, stop procrastinating etc. Regular coaches rarely tackle these sorts of things…and yet these are often the biggest barriers stopping you from achieving your outcome.
However we do it, we will both do whatever it takes (ethically of course) to get you to your desired outcome.
